Audio Guide for the National Museum in Krakow
The National Museum in Krakow has entrusted us with developing a mobile app as an alternative to traditional audio guide devices.
One of the key assumptions of the project was also to increase safety during the ongoing pandemic by giving the visitors the ability to follow the subsequent steps of the exhibitions using their smartphones.
The app in a nutshell.
There were several key project assumptions:
- an application for Android and iOS smartphones
- playback of audio files concerning the exhibition
- an exhibition in more than one language
- an option to switch the application’s language on the fly, regardless of the smartphone's settings
- audio files taken from the backend to limit the application’s size in Google Play and App Store – the visitors can choose their desired exhibition and download content in their preferred language.
We took care of the design of the application interface and its implementation, development of the software handling taking files from the server backend provided by the client, as well as putting the application on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Based on the requirements and the specification provided by the client, there was only one technology that could do it all – Flutter SDK – all because it enables the development of hybrid applications, allowing us to write code just once to create apps for Android and iOS.
Choosing this solution shortens the development time, which reduces the final cost.
If you would like to check out our work, go to the National Museum in Krakow and see theBaroque Genius. Szymon Czechowicz exhibition.
You can find the app on Google Play and the App Store – just look for Szymon Czechowicz or MNK AudioGuide.
If you have an idea and want to work with us – let us know!
